Teach Us to Pray: Finding a Prayer Style That Fits Your Personality

What is prayer? How can we pray in a way that’s more fulfilling and that fits our personality more authentically? How can scripture support a rich and rewarding prayer experience? If you’re curious about the answers to these questions, join us online for a five-part exploration of praying with scripture.

Using five classic methods of praying with scripture and a simple way to identify your personality type, you will discover ways of praying that are tailor-made for you. If you tend to be more thoughtful and introspective, there’s a style that encourages you to use your creative imagination. If you’re more attuned to your senses – sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste – you’ll find an imaginative way to use your senses to engage the texts. If you’re more at home in a rational, intellectual approach, there’s a style just right for you. And if you dislike structure and prefer a more spontaneous, free-flowing style, you’ll find it here. No experience or special knowledge is necessary, only a desire to pray in a way that is more personally fulfilling.
