On attending services
As a shepherd of the flock here at St. Timothy's, your health and the health of all individuals, known and unknown, is the mission of our congregation.
We are replacing physical services with worship online at 3 PM every Sunday (see below for details) until it is safe to meet again. Please check back for updates. All other gatherings are also cancelled until further notice, however, we encourage you to continue fellowship remotely. You can find some ideas on how to do this here.
We are not letting our prohibited physical meetings keep us from practicing our faith. Commit to continuing spiritual practices during the quarantine by filling out this sheet so we can support and encourage one another. Please join us in using the following resources and remote gatherings:
Pastor Kris has been creating videos to help you with your faith practice while we are away and will continue to do so for the duration of this time. Watch them below or subscribe to her YouTube channel and turn on updates.
We will be praying together every day at 3 PM. You can either live-stream them on Pastor Kris's Facebook page (linked below) or pray remotely, knowing that we are praying together. The live-streams will also be available to watch after.
On Sundays at 3 PM, we'll be holding worship together. You can join either by following the Zoom link below on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, or by calling +1-929-205-6099 with the meeting ID# 247 671 110. Please find the bulletin for the upcoming service attached below.
We will hold special services for Holy Week on Zoom as well. Join us at 7:15 PM on both Maundy Thursday and Good Friday and choose between the 8 AM and 10:30 AM services on Easter. The Zoom Meeting ID number is 747 041 7274 and is the same for all of these services. Click on the "Holy Week Zoom Worship" button or call in to join. Please note that the Palm Sunday service is under the regular worship services button.
We've recommended a few devotional resources for your individual study below and encourage you to use this time as an opportunity to strengthen your faith.
We encourage you to use this time as an opportunity to strengthen your faith through individual studies. The ELCA and Upstate New York SYNOD have provided various devotionals and other resources that you can use. Here are a few to get you started:
The YouVersion Bible App also has a wealth of devotionals to choose from in topics ranging from Lent and Easter, faith, worship, and forgiveness, to work, marriage, addiction, and fear. You can also choose devotionals geared towards men, women, youth, or kids to better fit your circumstances. YouVersion devotionals can be done right from your smartphone, tablet, or computer by visiting https://www.bible.com/reading-plans or downloading the YouVersion App.
Home Touch Ministry has also graciously provided a free, four-day devotional for our use which includes fun activities for each day. Use the button below to download it.
We humbly ask you to continue your faithful spiritual practice of giving while we are unable to meet in person through Give Plus or Tithe.ly. For more information on online giving, please see our Stewardship page here. If you would feel more comfortable doing so, you may also mail in your support. Thank you for helping us continue our mission through these tough times.
Gracious God, it is good for us to gather as your beloved in community. We treasure your presence with us in word and meal, song and prayer. Be with us in these days when gathering together as often as we would like is not possible. When we must be apart for reasons of safety, we trust that you surround us with your sheltering wings. Encourage us in connecting as we are able, reaching out to our neighbors in need and being persistent in prayer. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our constant companion. Amen.
